      <description><![CDATA[It would be no surprise to anybody that I am a huge advocate of video marketing. In fact it has clearly become something that I obsess over. Video marketing is by no means the <i>end all and be all</i> of selling Real Estate, it has simply become what I like to call the<i> icing on the cup cake.&nbsp;</i><br><br>Having recently read the book "Good to Great" by Jim Collins, one of the themes that jumped out was that great companies were never made great by some technological advancement. They certainly were aware of how to use technology to advance their mission, but it was <span style="text-decoration: underline;">never technology alone that created a transformational&nbsp;</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">breakthrough</span>&nbsp;for these great companies. <br><br>I have been giving new consideration to how I describe what <i>add value</i> The Ramage Group brings to the table as a Real Estate team. My current reflection is to create the analogy of a table with four legs that hold up the main platform (our business).<br><br>Leg 1 is<strong> experience</strong>, Leg 2 is<strong> service</strong> (what I like to call Client Care), Leg 3 is<strong> marketing</strong>, and Leg 4 is <strong>results </strong><strong>(getting the house sold)</strong><strong>.</strong>&nbsp;It is these 4 primary functions working together which create a great Real Estate team. Although I am most vocal about the marketing that we offer I am equally passionate about building these other legs to be strong and supportive.&nbsp;<br><br>I began todays writing wanting to share about our latest video posting. <br><br>

<br><br>Clearly there are areas and homes that I get really excited about and I am fully aware that passion is transmitted to everything that I do. This section of Hillhurst is an area that I called home for about 5 years and I thoroughly savoured the village atmosphere that is Hillhurst "proper". Our office is also located in the heart of this commercial section across from the Plaza Theatre on Kensington Road.<br><br>Recently I received a comment from one of the shop vendors as she shared how impressed she was with this video presentation. She said, "I couldn't believe all this effort was made to promote a house for sale". She thought it was a professional promotion for the community from the City. I love to hear such feedback and I am grateful for all the amazing comments I receive from the videos that we produce.<br><br>It strikes me as amazing that more people do not <strong>expect </strong>a higher quality presentation from Realtors. Yes, a lot of time and money is invested in creating this high quality promotion. Yet the stakes in this industry are also higher than ever. With the creation of discount brokerages, if the best an agent can express for marketing is getting a home on mls and posting twenty professional pictures, <strong>that is not enough!</strong> As professionals The Ramage Group is constantly seeking to push the boundaries of what we are doing to create value.&nbsp;<br><br>We have an impressive line up of homes slated to be coming on to the market in the next couple of weeks. It is always a delight to me to learn some of the history of the area. Inspired by some of the recent redevelopment, I decided to sit down with community neighbour Howard Moore to gain some perspective on the evolution of the area. From purchasing the lot for $350, getting drinking water from a spring to bobsledding down what is now one of the cities busiest streets, Howard has seen a lot of change in Hillhurst.</span><br><br><br></p>]]></description>
